Rondo Football Drills From 4v1 to Directional Play
Progress a basic 4v1 rondo into a directional drill that coaches body position, passing angles and playing through pressure.

Start with 4v1
Place four players around a square with one defender inside. Ask the two neighbours of the ball carrier to offer different angles. Let the receiver take enough touches to scan and adjust. Make the square smaller when the defender rarely gets close.
Add a second defender
In 4v2, the defenders can press and cover together. The attackers should use the space either side of the pressing player. Give a point for splitting both defenders with a pass that a teammate can control.
Make it directional
Add a target at each end and score when players work from one target to the other. After a regain, the defenders try to reach an end target. This gives the passing team a reason to protect the middle immediately after losing possession.
