The One-Page Football Game Plan for Match Day
Build a short football game plan with a starting shape, two player cues and clear adjustments for when your team leads or trails.

Pick one route with the ball
Choose a route your players can repeat under pressure, such as drawing the press to one side before finding the far winger. Name the player who holds width and the teammate who supports underneath. Agree what to do if the switch is screened.
Pick one trigger without the ball
A slow backwards pass or a receiver facing the touchline can prompt pressure. Name the first presser and the player screening the inside pass. Agree a recovery call for the moment the opposition escapes.
Write two scoreline adjustments
When leading, keep a forward outlet so a regain can become controlled possession. When trailing, add a runner to the box and specify who protects the middle after a turnover. Use the same one-page plan to review three clips after the game.
Put it into practice
Read the plan aloud before the match. If you cannot explain each choice in a sentence, simplify it. Put player names alongside the cover assignments so changes at half-time can be communicated quickly.
