Football Drills for Passing, Pressing and Transitions
Use three practical football drills to coach passing angles, connected pressure and the first action after possession changes.

Passing through a gate
Set up a directional three-versus-two. Score when the attackers pass through a central gate to a moving receiver. Ask supporting players to change the passing angle as the defender shifts. Widen the gate if players can rarely attempt the pass.
Connected pressure
Play four-versus-four with an outlet on either side. Give defenders a point for regaining after guiding possession towards one outlet. Coach the nearest player to close and the next to screen the inside lane. Let the attackers switch if defenders commit too early.
Win and play forward
Use a small directional game with two end gates. After a recovery, award an extra point for a controlled forward pass into a gate. Review whether the first pass reached a teammate in motion. Let the players keep the ball if the lane is screened.
