Size 3

A size 3 is a smaller option commonly used with younger players. It can make it easier to practise repeated touches and short passes. Check the age-group rules before ordering match balls, since formats and organisers can differ.

Size 4

Size 4 is a common intermediate choice in junior football. Use the match size in training so players practise the touch and striking technique they need on game day. Read the organiser’s equipment rules if a squad plays in more than one format.

Size 5

Size 5 is the standard adult match size. IFAB Law 2 specifies a circumference of 68–70 cm and a starting weight of 410–450 g for the standard match ball. Youth and some other formats can modify ball specifications. Check the pressure guidance printed on the ball and the competition’s rules.
